The Hiram Caldwell cemetery is located in Cataloochee on Cataloochee Entrance Road at the main valley. There's a sign pointing the way from the road. Park at the sign and walk a path through the field about 200 yards to the tree line where there is another sign. Here there is usually a few homemade hiking sticks. You will need one. The walk to the cemetery is short but extremely steep.
The name Caldwell was once spelled Colwell but eventually changed through the years. Hiram Caldwell built the two story house just down the road from the cemetery and across the road from the barn.
